Day
Arrive at the Jorge Chavez International Airport, where you will be greeted by Brand g’s local representative and transferred to the centrally located Hilton Miraflores (Lima).
After a late morning briefing and included lunch at the beautiful La Rosa Nautica restaurant, enjoy a panoramic drive through Miraflores and San Isidro and to see the sites of “Parque de los Enamorados” (Lover’s Park), and enjoy a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Continue to the historic center of Lima, a UNESCO world heritage site, where you will see the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, and City Hall. Visit the Church and Convent of the San Francisco Monastery, the most significant religious site in Lima, which provides insight into life during Spanish colonial times, and the catacombs, which served as a burial ground until 1808. Continue to the Cathedral which houses the remains of Francisco Pizarro, the founder of Lima. We’ll also visit the Larco Museum, housed in a former mansion, itself built on the site of a pre-Columbian temple, the museum offers a varied collection of 3,000 years of ceramic, textile and precious metal artifacts. There are also mummies that show off the different ways ancient cultures, including the Incas, preserved their dead. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. (B/L)
After breakfast, fly from Lima to Iquitos. Upon arrival in Iquitos, you’ll be greeted by a member of the Delphin III team. We will start off with a lunchbox as we travel over paved road to the city of Nauta, 95 kilometers away. Nauta is literally the “end of the road” where you will embark on the Delfin. Along the way, you will see vibrant “terra firma” (non-flooded forest) and various aspects of daily jungle life. Nauta is a small riverside town on the banks of the Marañon River and was the first city founded in the department of Loreto. Once we reach Nauta, you will enjoy a VIP greeting at our private port along the shores of the Marañon River where the vessel awaits you. Aboard the Delphin III, you will be served by our qualified staff who will introduce you to your exquisite and cozy suite, specially equipped with all the amenities for the experienced traveler as yourself. Later we gather for cocktails and a celebratory welcome dinner as we make our way out of port and into the Amazon River. (B/L/D/Welcome Reception)
This morning, our skiffs skim the Samiria River and its tributaries, where an abundance of wildlife hides in the deep rainforest, such as blue and yellow macaws, scarlet macaws, toucans, umbrella birds, monkeys, and river others, capybaras and more. Our naturalists and his expert eye pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. This is also a popular dolphin feeding spot so we won´t be the only one enjoying the plethora of fish below. After a delicious lunch you will start cruising through the creeks of Yanayaquillo, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. This is also a popular dolphin feeding spot so we won´t be the only one enjoying our happy meal here. Later, we start cruising through the Yanayacu River, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on one of our paddle boards. You will even have the opportunity to swim in the jungle river along with the famous pink dolphins! Morning cruise through the Yanayacu and Pucate Rivers, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on one of the kayaks or paddle boards. You will even have the opportunity to swim in the jungle river along with the famous pink dolphins! After lunch explore Nauta Caño Creek, known for squirrel and silver back tamarillo monkeys, birds, dolphins, and even sloths! We will skim the riverbanks for small caimans and spiders, as well as insects of all colors, shapes and sizes. (B/L/D)
A morning walk at Fundo Casual jungle trail will take you deep into the rainforest on terra firme (non-flooded forest) where your guide will point out the dynamic creatures and vegetation of the Amazon. Be sure to keep an attentive eye open for spotting surprises! Next we will visit the community of San Francisco will include a short skiff ride and jungle walk to meet local villagers who have called Amazonia their home for generations. Here we will visit a market featuring amazing arts and crafts from the local women. (B/L/D)
This morning, we’ll disembark the Deplhin III. On our way back to the Iquitos airport, we’ll visit the Rescue and Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (ACOBIA) where you will have the chance to meet baby manatees and learn about these wonderful and docile creatures and why they are on the endangered species list. You will also have the chance to pet and feed these kind manatees. As well, there are also some other animals cared for by the center that have been rescued from capture for the intention of being turned into pets and other threatening conditions. We welcome you to donate to this ambitious organization and education center as you wish. Our land personnel will wait for you at the airport and give your boarding passes and help you check in. After a connecting flight through Lima, we will arrive in Cusco and transfer to the Tambo del Inka Luxury Hotel. (B/D)
Urubamba Valley is located in the Andes close to the Inca capital of Cusco, and below the ancient sacred city of Machu Picchu. Begin the day with a drive through the town of Maras to the Saltpans, which have existed since Pre-Incan times. Continue to the town of Ollantaytambo with its huge Incan fortress rising from the edge of town. After lunch continue to Urubamba for a visit to the Pablo Seminario Ceramic workshop. Pablo and his wife have developed a technique of ceramics which reflects the ancient Peruvian culture. Pablo has exhibits of his artwork in the Pre Columbian museum in Cusco and also the Field Museum in Chicago. (B/L)
After breakfast, board the train in Ollantaytambo for the scenic journey to Aguas Calientes, the starting point for the tour of Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas.” A local expert will guide you through the marvelous citadel, the main plaza, the royal quarters, and the Temple of Three Windows before checking into the Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel. This morning the choice is yours to make a second visit to Machu Picchu mountain in the early morning, or you could opt to climb Huaynapicchu (limited based on availability). Otherwise, the morning is yours to explore Machu Picchu Village on your own. This afternoon, return to Ollantaytambo by train, and transfer to Cusco. Upon arrival, check-in to the Palacio del Inka Luxury Collection Hotel in Cusco and enjoy your evening at leisure. (B/L)
This mornings tour takes us to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas central square for a visit to the Cathedral, one of the most imposing structures in the city. The Cathedral houses an important collection of gold and silver work from the colonial period as well as a beautiful collection of oil on canvas. Continue with a visit to the Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo. The Convent was built on the Koricancha (site of gold) the most important temple dedicated to the worship of the sun by the ancient Incans. Enjoy a Farewell Lunch before your return flights home. Brand g Vacations is pleased to introduce our 2018 Amazon Cruise and Machu Picchu Expedition travel program. The cruise is operated aboard the luxurious Delfin III, which offers some of the most spacious accommodations along the Amazon River. This smartly designed, 44-passenger, colonial-style vessel, provides the ultimate in comfort, with five-star amenities.

Our custom designed land program provides authentic, educational, and culturally-enriching encounters daily. Few trips offer as rich an experience of Peru’s diverse natural and cultural treasures.

Begin in the cosmopolitan city of Lima, known for its vibrant food scene. Fly to Iquitos where you will embark a luxury riverboat that takes you deep into the rain forest within the Amazon Basin. Home to a staggering array of wildlife, the Peruvian Amazon boasts nearly a thousand species of birds alone. Enjoy fine wine and famous Peruvian cuisine while enjoying the company of other lgbt travelers. After disembarkation, we will continue on to the Sacred Valley near the Inca capitol of Cusco. From here, we board a train for a scenic journey to Machu Picchu, the mystical stone city built by the Incas in the 15th century. Afterwards return to Cusco for an overnight and guided tour before departing for your flight home.

To ensure that you understand the conditions of your particular vacation, please read the following policies and procedures completely. All policies and procedures are subject to change at any time at Brand g’s sole discretion without notice. Any and all information contained herein is in effect at the time of printing and is subject to change at any time.

Information contained in this document does not form part of any offer or contract. The transportation of guests and baggage on Delfin vessels is provided solely by Delfin Cruises and is governed by the terms and conditions printed on the Passage Contract. The Passage Contract will be included with your travel documents and contains complete and important information regarding cancellations, itineraries, Delfin Cruise’s liability, health and immigration requirements, and other relevant terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of the Passage Contract will apply to persons who have booked a cruise regardless of whether or not they have embarked the vessel. Please read your Passage Contract carefully. To the extent that any of the information in the brochure conflicts with the terms of the Passage Contract, the terms and conditions contained in the Passage Contract shall control.

Itinerary arrival and departure times are always subject to change without notice. Brand g Vacations reserves the right to cancel, alter, advance, postpone or substitute any scheduled itinerary, substitute another vessel for the scheduled ship, or substitute or cancel scheduled ports of call, which, in its sole judgment and discretion, is justified for any reason, and to do so without liability for any loss whatsoever to guests as a result of said change(s). Additionally, Delfin reserves the right to cancel reservations and bookings in the event of a full-ship charter, whether or not a deposit or full payment has been received, and in such event, Delfin’s only liability will be to refund to the guest the amount it has received.

Brand g makes arrangements for transportation, only as a booking agent. In arranging for the transportation, Brand g does so with independent contractors. Brand g is not responsible for incidents such as airline cancellations, re-routings or any disruption of scheduled services or accommodation, or lost luggage.

All schedules, fares, and terms and conditions are effective as of March 2017 and supersede any schedules, prices, and terms and conditions previously published.

All fares including land and hotel, are capacity controlled, subject to change at any time with or without notice and do not guarantee availability. All are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice.

Travel documents will not be dispatched until full and final payment and passenger Contact Information has been received by Brand g and cleared. For purposes of this Agreement, Contact Information shall mean a guest’s full name, passport number, address, telephone number (land and mobile), electronic mail address and emergency contact information and any other information as requested. Brand g must be able to reach each guest’s emergency contact at any time of day. Brand g must, therefore, be provided with all information to allow them to do so (such information should include the name, address, electronic mail address (if available) and phone number (including a cell phone number if available) of a parent, guardian, spouse, domestic partner, or other person to contact in the event of an emergency. No guest will be allowed to participate in the trip unless Brand g has received all information.

Cruise Tariff

2018 program fares cover certain land and shipboard services including: hotel and ship suite accommodations, land excursions, onboard meals and entertainment, complimentary beverages aboard ship (including select locally produced soda, water, coffee and tea and local beer throughout the cruise and wine with dinner), meals and beverages on land as specified in the itinerary. All fares are quoted in US dollars, are per guest and based on double occupancy. Not included in your program tariff are: Champagne, and spirits, wine (other than with dinner at included meals on board and on land), optional shore excursions, meals outside of those specified in the itinerary, imported mineral waters, fuel surcharges, laundry, purchases from the ship boutique or any item or service of a personal nature such as medical care, massages and spa treatments.

Travel Professionals

Travel agents are considered to be the agent of Passenger and not of Brand g. Brand g Vacations is not liable for any representation, act or omission of Passenger’s travel agent. Passenger’s program fare is not considered paid until Brand g receives full payment, and the amount thereof is subject to change at any time prior to Brand g’s receipt of payment. Passenger shall at all times remain liable to Brand g for the price of passage. Brand g reserves the right to refuse participation if all charges and surcharges have not been paid in advance of departure.

Deposit/Final Payment

To reserve the trip, a $850 per person deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment is due no later than 120 days prior to departure. Guests will not be permitted to change travel agents once final payment has been received. Final documentation will be issued after receipt of final payment and approximately 30 days prior to sailing. All reservations are subject to cancellation if payments are not received by the due date, and are guaranteed only when paid in full 120 days prior to sailing. Reservations made within 120 days of sailing require full payment within seven days of booking or sooner, as specified by Brand g Vacations. Payments may be made by AMEX / VISA®/ MasterCard® or DISCOVER®.

Cancellations/Refunds

Should you find it necessary to cancel your reservation or any component thereof, you or your travel professional are required to contact Brand g Vacations directly by telephone as well as submit your cancellation in writing. Refunds are subject to the schedule below regardless of suite/cabin resale and cancellation charges may not be converted to future cruise credits:

Health and Medical Requirements

All guests are required to report in writing to Brand g Vacations at the time their reservation is made:

  1. Any physical or mental condition that may require medical or professional treatment or attention during the voyage
  2. Any condition that may render the guest unfit for travel, or that may require special care or assistance
  3. Any condition that may pose a risk or danger to the guest or anyone else on board the ship
  4. Any condition that may require oxygen for medical reasons
  5. Any intention or need to use a wheelchair cart, other mobility device

By booking passage on this program, the guest represents and warrants that he/she is physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the program, ship and orders and instructions of the ship’s officers.

Delfin Cruises reserves the right without liability to require a guest to disembark and/or to refuse to board and transport a guest who, in the judgment of Delfin or the ship’s Captain, is unfit to travel or may require care beyond that which Delfin is reasonably able to provide.

Delfin strongly recommends that guests are able to navigate the stairs on-board without assistance. Should guests require assistance, they must travel with someone who is able to assist them both ashore and at Onboard. Delfin is unable to offer special assistance. Please note that wheel-on and/or wheel-off access is not available at ports-of-call.

Baggage

You may bring a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge. Baggage must be handled in accordance with regulations of our air and ground operators. Baggage exceeding these limitations is subject to the charges as set forth by the individual operators. Airlines are strict with baggage limitations. Guests are encouraged to contact individual airlines for weight limitations.

All baggage must be securely packed, and properly and clearly labeled. Liquid, fragile, perishable and other articles not suitably packed are transported at your own risk. Delfin Cruises and Brand g are not responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any other personal item during air travel or land extension programs.

Baggage and personal belongings will be taken off the ship upon guest disembarkation. Under no circumstances will baggage be stored onboard without the owner of such baggage being on the vessel. Delfin Cruises is not responsible for baggage stored in shore side facilities.

Under no circumstances may dangerous items (including but not limited to: explosives, firearms, combustible or illegal substances) be taken aboard the ship, land or air transportation. We recommend that you hand-carry travel documents (passport, visa, cruise tickets), medications and valuables. These items are the full responsibility of the guest at all times. Brand g Vacations shall not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to, such personal items.

Lost Property

Brand g Vacations may levy a charge for the return of personal items left on board or lost and subsequently found.

Travel Documents

All travel documents (air and cruise tickets, passport and medical insurance information) are the guest’s responsibility. It is also the guest’s responsibility to obtain any necessary visas and public health documents for all applicable ports and to comply with all customs requirements. Without the required documents, a guest may be denied participation and Brand g Vacations will not make a refund or be otherwise liable to any guest for such denial.

In the event that Delfin Cruises or Brand g as a courtesy provides information or advice as to necessary travel documents, visas and medical inoculations, guests are still obligated to verify such information with the appropriate government authorities and we do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy of such information. Peru requires passports to be valid six months beyond intended stay. Please check with the appropriate consulate for specific requirements. Security measures imposed by governments may change from time to time and each guest will be required to comply with them. As a courtesy, we will endeavor to provide each guest with notice of measures that may affect them, but complying with any such requirements is the sole responsibility of each guest. Please consult your travel professional for advice on such requirements to avoid loss privileges.

Taxes, Government Fees/Quasigovernment Fees and Fuel Supplements

Brand g reserves the right to pass through to its guests (including fully paid and deposited guests) any taxes and government fees/quasi-government fees that relate specifically to a guest’s itinerary. “Taxes and Government fees/quasi-government fees” include any and all fees, charges, surcharges, tolls and taxes imposed by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities including, but not limited to, customs fees, per person berth taxes or fees, embarkation and/or disembarkation fees at ports, airline transportation fees, dockage fees, and wharfage fees.

Delfin Cruises reserves the right to charge a per person fuel supplement in the event that the price of increases up to and including the day of embarkation. Delfin may collect any taxes, government fees/ quasigovernment fees and fuel supplement (the “Surcharges”) at the time of booking, prior to sailing or on board the vessel, even if the cruise fare has been paid in full. Surcharges will be invoiced accordingly.

Video / Photographic Release

You agree to participate in promotional, publicity, or merchandising pictures during this event. You hereby authorize the reproduction, sale, copyright, broadcast and /or distribution of said video, sound recording and pictures without limitations. You further agree and release Brand g, its parent, subsidiary companies, their representatives and agents from any liability, loss, expense or claims arising from distribution, broadcast, sale or use of your likeness or voice. You certify that you are 21 years of age or over. You may opt out of any promotional videos and pictures; however Brand g does not guarantee that you will not be included.
